Newfoundland and Labrador welcomed to Football Canada
After being recognized as the provincial governing body by Sport NL this past year, Football Newfoundland and Labrador was recognized at the 2014 AGM as a member of Football Canada. Football NL will be focusing on growing their 6-A-Side tackle football over the coming years.
Board of Director Elections
The 2014 edition of the AGM marked the start of a new board of director’s configuration wherein provincial representatives will be phased out and replaced with member elected at-large representatives.
Three positions were up for election following the end of terms of board members Ed Bankowski (Saskatchewan), Bob Mironowicz (Quebec) and Gary Mancuso (PEI).
Bob Mironowicz was re-elected to his second term on the third ballet while on the first ballot former board member Kim Wudrick (1999-’09) was elected back to the board. The second ballot saw Chris Valardo (Fall River, NS) elected to the Football Canada board for his first term.
Football Canada would like to thank Gary Mancuso and Ed Bankowski for their longtime service on the board of directors and look forward to continuing to work with them within their PSOs.
