2020 CFFL Nationals cancelled
Due to the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, Football Canada has cancelled the 2020 Canadian Flag Football League (CFFL) Nationals.
The tournament would have taken place on August 14-15, 2020, in Ottawa.
“We are disappointed to cancel one of our most important and exciting events of the summer flag season,” commented Shannon Donovan, Football Canada’s Executive Director. “With the safety of our players, coaches, and personnel as the top priority, this was a tough but right decision we had to make.”
Football Canada will work with PSOs to look at the option of having provincial and regional events for the CFFL in the fall if health guidelines provide the opportunity to do so.
Football Canada continues to monitor the situation while being guided by federal and provincial public health. However, the focus will turn towards the fall season and continuing to support provincial sport organizations with the execution of their return to play plans.
“We remain optimistic about returning to the field and look forward to seeing our member provinces restart the sport again,” Donovan added.
