Competition Development NCCP Pilot to be offered in February 2014 in Saskatchewan
From February 26-March 2, 2014, Football Canada is piloting National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Competition Development workshop and training for Master Learning Facilitators and Evaluators.
Eligibility
The Comp. Dev. context is restricted to those who coach at one of the following four levels:
- University (CIS/NCAA)
- Junior (CJFL/QJFL)
- CEGEP
- Football Canada Cup or Team Canada
Also eligible are:
- Certified level 3 (under the old NCCP program)
- Certified Competition Introduction Head Coach (under the new NCCP system).
*Please note that this pilot is restricted to those that are currently head coaches at the University, Junior, CEGEP, National or Provincial Team (e.g. Team Canada, Team Quebec or Alberta) levels.
About the training
The course will take place over 5 days and will include both Learning Facilitator training, Expert Facilitator training and Evaluator training for all participants on top of the Competition Development training which includes Safe Contact, 4 Management Modules and 2 Technical/Tactical Modules.
The pilot/training will be the first complete Competition Development course offered in Canada for football. Head coaches from across the country at the CIS/CEGEP/Junior/Canada Cup and National team level will be invited but a maximum of 40 coaches will be chosen. Each province has been allotted a specific number of spots thus it is important that coaches submit their applications as soon as possible.
Once completed these head coaches will be the leaders in delivering the Competition Development course to the rest of the country. Football Canada will then offer 4 courses a year in the West (BC, AB, SK), Central (MB, ON, QC), East (NS, PEI, NB) and at the location of Football Canada Cup. Each center will receive either a Management or a Technical/Tactical Workshop on an alternating basis.
Cost
The cost of the pilot for coaches will only include their travel, accommodations and a few meals. Football Canada will be waiving the fee for this first course and will also be covering the majority of meals. Accommodations will be through the 4 Points Sheraton (503 Cope Way, Saskatoon, SK S7T 0G3) at a room rate of $139.99 which will include breakfast.
Registration
Interested head coaches are asked to fill out the attached application form and submit it to their respective Provincial Football Organization (see list at bottom of form) as soon as possible as space is limited.
Registration deadline is January 20, 2014.
