Football Canada welcomes four to its Board of Directors
On Saturday July 18, Terry McIntyre (Fredericton, NB), Gino Castellan (Red Deer, AB) and Rohan Bansie (Ottawa, ON) were elected to Football Canada’s Board of Directors at the organization’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Montréal, Quebec.
Having previously served, Terry McIntyre and Gino Castellan were re-elected to the board while Rohan Bansie was elected to serve his first term. Also joining the board by appointment is Jim Mullin (Vancouver, BC).
Rohan Bansie is a lawyer and mediator with the respected Ottawa law firm of Nelligan O’Brien Payne LLP. His current practice is focused on insurance and personal injury litigation as well as civil and commercial litigation. As a trained mediator, Rohan has over 25 years experience in assisting clients with conflict resolution. In 2007, he was appointed as a Deputy Judge of the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court. Also an accomplished coach, Bansie spent two years as an assistant with the Ottawa Renegades of the CFL.
Jim Mullin has nearly 30 years of experience within the world of sport communications and is currently the producer and host of Krown Countdown U as well as a producer, play-by-play, colour commentator and host with SHAW best known for Krown Canada West Football. He’s also served as the project leader for the 2011 Vanier Cup held in Vancouver in addition stints in radio as well as a reporter/producer with both CBC and TSN.
AGM discussions included:
- National insurance program led by a presentation from BF Lorenzetti Insurance
- National registry including a presentation from GOALLINE
- Potential re-structuring of the board and the working committees
The meetings also welcomed the presence of observer Trevor Stone from the CFL who will be working as a liaison between the CFL and the amateur football community.
