Get to know U16 East All Star Team Offensive Lineman , Chris Weber!
Chris Weber is an offensive lineman from London, Ontario who will be suiting up for the 2018 International Bowl as a member of the Under-16 Eastern Canadian Team.
This will be Weber’s second time representing Canada at the International Bowl. Last year’s event in Orlando, Florida was the highlight of his career.
The first time Weber was introduced to the sport was when his father took him to a Western Mustangs (USports) football game.
“I just fell in love with the sport right there,” recalled the lineman of his first brush with the sport.
Among the teams Weber has played for during his career include the London Junior Mustangs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), Royal Imperial Collegiate of Canada (RICC) Knights and Mother Teresa Spartans of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA).
As part of Team Ontario, the lineman helped the team win the silver medal at the Under-16 Eastern Challenge.
“It was amazing,” reflected Weber of the tournament. “I loved it; the coaches were great.”
“I loved playing with the players and overall it was a great experience.”
Weber cited his former football coach, Steve Green as well as his parents as his role models.
As for the 2018 International Bowl, the lineman is happy and has no words to describe the feeling of representing Canada.
“I am looking forward to getting the exposure, meeting some of the best players and getting some great coaching,” added Weber.
