Host British Columbia, Quebec Blue and Saskatchewan earn top spots after Day 2 at 2017 Flag Nationals
On Saturday at University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds Stadium in Vancouver, the host province, Quebec Blue and Saskatchewan finished Day 2 action on top of the standings.
Heading into the medal round on Sunday the under-16 Male Division, top seeded British Columbia Orange will battle fourth ranked Manitoba in one semi-final. Meanwhile, second seeded British Columbia White will square off against third ranked Alberta in the other.
The winners from those morning games will play for gold while the losers will face off for the bronze medal.
Additionally, fifth place Saskatchewan White, sixth ranked Saskatchewan Green and seventh seeded Nova Scotia will play each other in a consolation round robin.
As for the under-16 Female Division, fourth ranked Saskatchewan White battles fifth place Alberta on Sunday. The winner of that game moves on to face top seeded Quebec Blue in one semi-final. Second ranked Saskatchewan Green and third place Quebec Red will meet in the other semi-final.
Top seeded British Columbia will square off against fourth ranked Nova Scotia in one under-18 Male semi-final. Meanwhile, second place Manitoba and third seeded Saskatchewan battle it out in the second semi-final. Fifth seeded Ontario and sixth ranked Quebec will play a consolation game as well on Sunday.
Finally, first seed Saskatchewan will face fourth ranked Ontario in the first under-18 Female Division semi-final. Second place Nova Scotia will square off against third seeded Quebec in the second semi-final. Moreover, fifth ranked Manitoba and sixth place New Brunswick face off in a consolation game.
Day 3 action begins at 9:00AM PT and will be live streamed HERE. Medal rounds will take place in the afternoon.
