Langley Rams to host Hilltops in Canadian Bowl
The Langley Rams and Saskatoon Hilltops have punched their respective tickets to the 2014 Canadian Bowl (CJFL National Championship), Saturday, November 8. The Hilltops won the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) with a win over the Calgary Colts while the Langley Rams defeated the Okanagan Sun to claim the BCFC title.
The Saskatoon Hilltops Win The PFC
The Saskatoon Hilltops will make their fourth appearance in the Canadian Bowl in the last five seasons after a 27-7 victory over the Calgary Colts on Sunday to win the Prairie Football Conference championship.
Even without the PFC’s Offensive Player of the Year Wayndel Lewis, the Hilltops gathered 539 yards of total offense, 214 on the ground and 328 yards through the air.
Quarterback Jared Andreychuck completed 20 of 31 passes for 329 yards and threw three touchdown passes. Davis Mitchell caught nine of those passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns, while Evan Kopchynski hauled in seven balls for 151 yards and a major.
The Langley Rams Win The BCFC
For the second time in three seasons the Langley Rams are BC Football Champions after a 23-19 road win over the Okanagan Sun on Sunday afternoon.
The Sun got on the board first with two field goals from Thomas Huber in the first quarter. He hit from 15 and 26 yards away and led 6-0 after the first quarter.
