QUÉBEC DEFEATS B.C., ADVANCING TO GOLD MEDAL FINAL
Québec and British Columbia faced off in the second semi-final game of the 2011 Football Canada Cup to determine who would face host Alberta in the gold medal game. Québec jumped out to an early lead on a 15-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Guillaume Dumas to Sébastien Serré. British Columbia answered with a 47-yard halfback option pass from running back Terrell Davis to receiver Taylor Young. British Columbia tied the game 7-7 with a play action pass from quarterback Tyler Green to running back Mason Swift.
Québec broke the deadlock at the end of the first quarter with a 32-yard field goal by Alexandre Huard. Late in the first half, Québec extended their lead 16-7 with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Guillaume Dumas to Christopher Amoah.
In the second half Québec pulled ahead to a 31-7 lead, adding two touchdowns including a 6-yard run from quarterback Guillaume Dumas. Both touchdowns were sandwiched between an interception by defensive lineman, Jeremy Pelletier. B.C.’s Terrell Davis led the game in rushing with 60 yards on the ground.
On Friday, Québec will face host Alberta in the gold medal game while B.C. and Ontario West battle for bronze.
