Recognize deserving football coaches in your community
Nominations open for Football Canada Coach of the Year
The search for the inaugural Football Canada Coach of the Year is now underway. Up for grabs are national U14 and U18 Community Football Coach Awards.
These awards help recognize the positive impact of active community, club, and high school coaches from across Canada who dedicate themselves to the development of youth both on and off the field.
“Coaches volunteer their time so that participants across the country can enjoy the great game of football,” said Shannon Donovan, Executive Director of Football Canada.
“The awards unveiled today help recognize deserving coaches for their contributions. They are not awarded for wins and losses, but rather recognition of the positive impact that coaches have on their athletes and their community.”
Nominators are asked to provide a submission (video or written) recognizing the positive impact the volunteer coach has on young players. Nominators are asked to consider how the coach teaches respect, safety, motivation, leadership and appreciation for the game of football when drafting their nominations.
