“RETURN TO FOOTBALL” DOCUMENT RELEASED BY FOOTBALL CANADA
Ottawa, ON – Football Canada has released the “Return to Football” guide to assist members and stakeholders with management of football activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guide will provide direction for Canada’s football community to follow which align with standards set by the provincial health authorities and the provincial sport organizations.
The “RTF” is the result of work that commenced immediately after Football Canada’s halt to play, practice and face-to-face meetings was issued March 12. A 12-person national task force with guidance from the medical, training, legal and football community assembled the document.
The document details stages for return and the key activities which align with those stages based on a compendium of provincial health and safety guidelines. For detailed information, the “Return to Football” guide can be found here:
“We took the time to ensure we paid respect to detail throughout the Return to Football guide,” Football Canada president and Task Force chair Jim Mullin said.
“This is a multi-stage guide for the safe resumption of football and football-related activities in Canada. Just as developments around COVID-19 are subject to change, there will be additions to this document responding to those events. We will keep our members informed on all updates regarding this issue,” Mullin said.
