Teams, Schedule announced for 2016 Senior Flag Football Invitational
Winners to represent Canada at Worlds
Ten male and four female teams are set to compete at Football Canada’s Senior Flag Football Invitational, Friday May 27 through Sunday May 29 at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The winning male and female team will go on to represent Canada at the IFAF Flag Football World Championships, September 7-12, 2016 in Grand Bahama, the Bahamas.
Canada’s women are the defending gold medalist from the 2014 and 2010 worlds. Canada’s men look to improve upon a fourth place finish at the 2014 worlds.
Both national and international tournaments feature 5-on-5 flag football competition. Participating invitational teams must be part of a league that is a member of their provincial association. Participants must also be at least 18 years of age as of December 31, 2015 (born no later than 1997) in order to compete. In addition, players must be Canadian citizens to be eligible to represent Canada at the worlds should their team win the invitational.
